With mankind making nearly every type of technological and personal advance, the general office team, brainstorming, status and powerpoint based meeting on most cases still suck. What’s the deal?
Well, some people took notice of the ideas the Don The Idea Guy and myself generated in version one of Boring Meetings Suck. This first version was a great resource for those looking for new ideas on running and managing effective meetings and got great reviews. (5 star rating on Amazon!) But with all the changes in technology, social media and even the economy what are we to do? I believe it’s time to either start getting more out of your meetings or learn how to GET OUT of your meetings. (Without getting fired).
You mean, this teaches me how to get out of meetings? YUP?
Don’t get me wrong, there are many out there who know how to prepare and facilitate a meeting, but the bulk of people do not. The find fault in the classic “over invitation syndrome” or simply have a scattered showered meeting in place of a true brainstorm. Maybe it’s not their fault, maybe they never learned how.
This new, “He didn’t say it, Oh, yes he did” style book, goes right for heart of the problem and gives real advice on how to fix the meeting whether you are the meeting chair or simply an attendee.
